Bootlegger Coffee Co. is passionate about great coffee, inspired people and seeks to create a unique cafe culture on Sea Point’s bustling Regent Road.
Serving coffee made from quality beans, roasted on sight for extra freshness, grab your morning cuppa from as early as 6:30 am. Pair it with breakfast or lunch made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients, or visit after the lunch crowd has dispersed for wine and tapas. Just missing happy hour (from 5:30 pm – half price on beer and cocktails) we popped open a bottle of Moresôn Miss Molly bubbles instead before tucking into the small plate delights (R50/R180).
In true high brow low brow style, we paired our bubbly with sticky ribs, chili poppers and deep fried fish cakes (R30–R65). For the more hungry, choose from mains such as fillet steak, calamari or the ultimate drawcard – grilled pork ribs done to sticky, delicious perfection (R95).
The wine list is small but varied, and with craft beer on tap and tasty cocktails, it’s a relaxed and ambient space to grab dinner and a round with friends. The bar area also has capacity to host events and birthday parties, so consider booking it for your next celebratory get-together.
The dark walls, mosaic tiles and copper finishes make for a comfortable yet stylish space, and paired with good coffee, good food and satisfactory service, one of our favourites on the Sea Point strip.
