In Bree Street you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to restaurants, bars and coffee shops, but few places do fresh and healthy like The General Store. Neat and impeccably furnished with a Scandi-inspired interior, the daily menu features an assortment of salads, lean meat and fish, and a choice of white or black coffee. Simple like the light and airy space, the no-fuss attitude, friendly owners and changing menu means it’s the most likable place to grab a spot of lunch.
Perfect for inner city professionals who need a morning pick-me-up or lunch time reload, The General Store is both charming and accessible. It has a European feel with modern finishes and a homely ambience. The owner Colette is at the kitchen’s helm and as friendly and welcoming as Wandi the barista. With efficient service and the healthiest (and yummiest) salads you’ll find in the city bowl, I seriously wish I could eat there every day.
What’s more, you can choose from a range of homemade condiments, spices and marinades, as well as nutritious pre-cooked meals to heat up at home. As a working professional, can you think of anything more convenient?
